The Pendleton Scout Newspaper Digitization Project
Camp Pendleton Historical Society (CPHS) has undertaken a project to digitize and publish (online) sixty-six years of the former The Pendleton Scout newspaper.
The Pendleton Scout was a military newspaper published starting in 1943, informing Marines and Sailors stationed at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California; The Scout ceased publication in April 2009.
Currently we’re in the early stages of the project, inventorying the complete newspaper collection stored in the archives of the Camp Pendleton History and Museum Division aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
